WSSS- Medicinal Plants Conservation Park (MPCP) is an extended area of 5 acres
is situated at Boys Town, Varayal, 12 Kms away from Mananthavady on the Tellichery State Highway. The MPCP is equipped with the following features.

User orientation packages consisting of 240 photographs of different medicinal plants, posters and charts related to health, ecology, environment and audiovisual unit with slides, video films besides the
availability of overhead and slide projectors.
The demo garden in the campus is well maintained with 600 species of medicinal plants among which 47 are in conservation concern. The Ethno Medicinal Forest is established with the collection of 1200 species from the district forests. The permanent nursery shed is able to supply around 100000 seedlings at a time. It is also equipped with a mist chamber.
Conservation and community outreach activities
Education programmes on conservation, propagation and identification of medicinal plants are imparted to the community through continuous training programmes. Kitchen Herbal Gardens are promoted among the community to prevent and cure the common diseases prevalent in the area. Wsss has promoted a
"network of traditional healers", who are specialized in the treatment of various diseases.
Moreover, the scenic beauty and salubrious climatic and landscape condition of our MPCP gets the credit as a place of tourism by the DTPC, Wayanad.
