Belgaum Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS) -Naganur is an NGO located in the Belgaum district of northern Karnataka. Since its inception it is working for the integrated rural development approach with 48 and odd broad line objectives. 

The medicinal plants conservation programme comes under the institutional category of the BIRDS. 

MPCP has valuable live specimens of around 400 species which are planted in Ethno Medicinal Forest and Demogarden. BIRDS is maintaining nearly 650 species herbarium specimens and 450 seeds and raw drugs specimens in the center.

Besides these, the centre has also developed special packages for school children, Ayurveda college students and farmers.

More than 130 local healers have been interviewed and the herbal use-pattern is documented.
